The City of Colombo excitedly anticipates the arrival of 2024 with festivity and joy.
Presently, the entire city of Colombo is brimming with festive spirit, and Sri Lanka Tourism is extending its warm welcome to the New Year with an extensive lineup of amusements and entertainment. This event aims to attract both domestic and international visitors, providing a glimpse into the island nation’s preparations for the occasion with optimism and delight.

The Ministry of Tourism and Lands and Sri Lanka Tourism are organizing the New Year’s celebrations at the Galle Face Green, which will undoubtedly be a memorable evening.

Flashback, one of the most well-known music groups in the nation, will serve as the event’s host in order to provide a grand celebration for all Sri Lankans. Sri Lanka Tourism has already completed preparations for “Ayubowan 2024.” In addition to popular artists including BNS, Jayasri, Romesh Sugathapala, Sanka Dineth, Sashika Nisansala, Ruwan Hettiarachchi, Amal Perera, Lahiru Perera, Amila Nadeeshani, and Kanch, the audience will be treated to an unforgettable musical experience.

Currently, efforts are underway to transform this into the most anticipated holiday delight, and the streets of Colombo have been illuminated and adorned in accordance with the holiday spirit, transforming the city into a haven of celebration.

Anticipated attendance at the preeminent hotels in Colombo for New Year’s Eve dinners that feature extravagant cuisine and entertaining, all-inclusive fare is between 18,000 and 20,000 guests, who are there to celebrate the passing of one year and the beginning of the next.

This has been the greatest monthly arrival rate for the past four years, which is cause for celebration in Sri Lanka as a tourist destination.

The initial objective for this year was 1.5 million visitors, but Sri Lanka Tourism has nearly achieved that number, reestablishing itself as a globally renowned travel destination.
